Description: La Capital is ADAM CARROLL's stage name and music venture. He just finished up his EP, "City Lights," and is getting ready to bring out the LP in the next few months. ADAM fits within the singer/songwriter and folk genres, drawing from his early musical influences such as Paul Simon and Johny Cash. But he reaches into a pocket of Damien Rice and Pete Yorn for a blend of up-to-date and classic music style and honest story telling. Adam grew up in Guatemala City until the age of 12; a place they call "la capital." His roots remain in Latin America, but his extensive traveling has brought him cultural influences from North America and Europe, as well. Always influenced by urban settings of the likes of Denver, Boston, London and NYC, he decided on the name La Capital - the capital city. http://www.myspace.com/lacapitalmusic Although Singer/Songwriter, DAVE TAMKIN, currently resides in Boulder, CO. He will always call Chicago, IL is home. DAVE TAMKIN, has created his own unique style of rhythmic-acoustic rock that's based around a fresh musical vision. His shows vary from intimate solo acoustic performances to a full band experience encapsulating a mixture of personal lyrics and skilled songwriting set against a high-energy percussive backbone. While touring relentlessly all over the nation, Dave plays over 200 shows a year. He's shared the stage with Guster, Glen Phillips, The Samples, Rusted Root, Michael Galbicki, Butch Walker, Matt Wertz, Eric Hutchinson, Stroke 9, The Violent Femmes, Fountains of Wayne, Vertical Horizon, Will Hoge, Stephen Kellog and The Sixers, Willy Porter, Freddy Jones Band, Brian Vanderark, Rhett Miller of the Old 97s, and Carbon Leaf to name a few. Tamkin has a style that's hard to resist. His lyrics are unabashedly honest and his passion for playing is undying. He is currently touring nationally solo and plays the mid west with his band. DAVE TAMKIN and Co. create a distinct sound. Their equal parts create a sonic percussive assault mixed with a vivid, melodic instrumental bed, shaken with a twist of passionate vocal lines.
