Artist: The Rock N Soul Cafe SIC & SWEET Artist ShowcaseTime: 7:30 pm
Description: This showcase highlights and features some of the outstanding younger artists / musicians playing today! This series will be held on the second Wednesday each month. This month the featured artists are: JACK GAFFNEY and THE BROWN SISTERS. JACK GAFFNEY is a singer songwriter and piano player with over 20 original songs to his credit. He’s composing a symphony (nearly complete), performs his rock n roll show at various venues around the Denver area, and is going into the studio soon to record his second CD. And he’s in 6th grade. Jack began playing piano at the age of 5. His older sister is an accomplished classical pianist, and Jack showed early musical interest. However, he had trouble sitting still during lessons and didn’t want to read music, preferring to hear a piece and play it by ear. After some trials, Jack’s parents eventually found the right teachers for him. THE BROWN SISTERS, are new to Boulder, consist of ABBY 16, SARAH 14, and AUDREY 12, have been performing together for 5 years. They play guitar, mandoline and bass and sing contemporary country and pop/ folk. They have sung The National Anthem at Fenway Park before a Red Sox game in 2005. They also have had a live concert in Vero Beach, Fl where they moved from, and have performed at over 50 Charity events in Mass. and Florida. This summer they performed in front of an A&R executive at Universal Records while in Nashville. They have written over 10 originals and sing many covers.
